Investment/Credit Manager
Denis joined Pearl Capital Partners in May 2023 as a Credit/Investment Manager in charge of the smallholder financing facility, his primary role is to underwrite medium-term credit to SACCOs, farmer cooperatives and Agri-SMEs for onward lending to small holder farmers.
Denis is a development financing professional with over 10 years progressive working experience in access to finance for smallholder farmers. Demonstrated knowledge in credit and investment underwriting, portfolio management for farmer organizations and Agri-SMEs.
Prior to joining Pearl Capital Partners, Denis worked for over 9 years with The Microfinance Support Centre (MSC), a development microfinance institution that provides wholesale credit and business development services to microfinance institutions (MFIs), Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Cooperative societies. At MSC, Denis served in different capacities starting from the credit officer position and later promoted to Zonal manager where he was responsible for evaluating client credit proposals for financing, and business development services to the partner organizations. By the time of leaving MSC, he was serving as the Institutional Development Officer. Between 2010 and 2013, he worked with UGAFODE Microfinance (MDI), a financial institution regulated by Bank of Uganda, starting as a credit officer and was later promoted to the position of Credit Supervisor overseeing branch credit activities.
Denis holds a Masters of Business Administration and Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Hons) from Makerere university.
