Credit Officer

Godfrey holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting & Finance) from Makerere University, a Professional Certificate in Financial Cooperative Management (PFCMP) from Moshi Co-operative University in Tanzania, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from the Uganda Management Institute (UMI).


He joined PCP Uganda Ltd in April 2023 as a Credit/Investment Officer and is currently working with Dairy Horticulture Credit Ltd, where he is responsible for portfolio development and management across the Rwenzori, Central, and Eastern regions. Prior to this role, Godfrey served as an Associate Consultant in Microfinance with Faith International Consults Ltd. He also worked at BRAC Uganda as a Programme Officer for the Youth Business Empowerment (Y4BE) project. Earlier in his career, he was the General Manager of HIMA Cooperative Society in Kasese and a Credit Supervisor at ENCOT Microfinance Ltd.


Godfrey brings extensive knowledge and experience in basic financial analysis and modelling, as well as in providing technical support for business development to Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), SACCOs, Producer & Marketing Cooperatives, microfinance institutions, and SMEs. He is well-versed in credit underwriting processes including; credit structuring, client mobilization, deal screening, due diligence, site appraisals, credit processing, disbursement, monitoring and reporting. His expertise spans portfolio development, monitoring, quality management and results-based reporting.


Additionally, Godfrey is skilled in credit risk management, organizational policy review, and reporting. He is adept at fostering strong and impactful investor-investee relationships, combining creativity with a solid entrepreneurial mindset.
