Timothy AbeikisSenior Investment Analyst
Timothy joined the investment team at PCP in July 2020. He will perform deal sourcing, evaluation, due diligence, execution, and investment management.
Prior to PCP, he was a Senior Business Development Manager/Investment Specialist - Agriculture at Balloon Ventures Ltd., responsible for 10 investments (with 7 fully invested) at Balloon Capital, a Micro Venture Capital Fund set up with support from Argidius Foundation, UKaid, Citi, Bain & Company, and Global Innovation Fund.
Before joining private equity/venture capital, he worked in agriculture and rural development where he held various roles including leading a commodity certification programme (Organic and Fairtrade standards for coffee) for 7,000 farmers with Gumutindo Coffee Cooperative Enterprise Ltd; designing and implementing high impact sustainability programmes for Cotton On Group (Foundation) in Southern Uganda; mainstreaming project cycle management approaches in adaptive research with the National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO); and spent five years part-time lecturing at the department of agriculture at Kyambogo University.
Timothy is a recipient of the globally competitive Agris Mundus double Masters scholarship of the European Union for academically exceptional third country nationals where he was awarded a Master of Science in Food Business from the College of Business and Law at University College Cork, Cork City – Republic of Ireland, and a Master of Science in Agricultural Development from the Faculty of Science (formally Life) at University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen – Denmark in 2010. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Agricultural Economics option) from Makerere University.
